Cohen said he would characterize the trade relationship as being “open, friendly and enormously productive,” but that disagreements are inevitable. “The way to test the quality and strength of a relationship is not whether you have disagreements, because you will have disagreements. But it’s how you handle them. Are you going to be civil…and work your way through them? Ever since my arrival (in December), there is one trade dispute that you could have raised — potato wart in P.E.I. — and that’s been worked through.”
