The City Council introduced and passed an ordinance a few days ago which fixes a penalty to be imposed upon persons who fail or refuse to wear gauze masks when appearing on I the streets. The ordinance is not being enforced. Scores of people walk the streets, enter stores and gather in groups to converse, and. to law-abiding individuals they appear to be proud of the impression they give that they have the “nerve” to disobey the law.
